Ransomware is a family of malicious software that acts like a Trojan horse. The software runs quietly in the background of an infected system and searches for and encrypts key files such as players club databases and casino management systems. In this course, discussion will revolve around the Division of Technology’s Alerts and Warnings page. The IT Audit team will provide real-world examples of how to prepare for and address ransomware attacks using the information outlined within the alerts and readiness documents. This session will provide helpful tips to create or fortify a multifaceted defensive strategy against threat actors and various cyber-events.
