NIGC announces final fee rate for Indian gaming operations
Sets fingerprint processing fee
WASHINGTON, May 29, 2015 – The National Indian Gaming Commission has adopted the final annual fee rate for Indian gaming operations for 2015.
Effective June 1, 2015, the annual fee rate for Indian gaming operations will be:
- 0.00 percent for tier 1 operations
- 0.065 percent for tier 2 operations
- 0.0325 percent of Class II revenues for self-regulating tribes under 25 CFR part 518
“This is the third consecutive fee rate reduction we have adopted while simultaneously enhancing our regulatory services and streamlining our operations,” said Associate Commissioner Dan Little. “Over the last several years the Commission has worked diligently to be good stewards of fees paid by tribal gaming operations and this latest fee rate reduction is reflective of that effort.”
The NIGC is funded through fees collected from Indian gaming operations under its jurisdiction. The agency bases fees on a percentage of assessable gross gaming revenues to fund its operations.
The NIGC also set its fingerprint processing fee of $21 per card effective June 1, 2015. The Commission annually reviews the cost of processing fingerprint cards and set a fee based on the amount charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and costs incurred by the Commission for processing.
