Freedom of Information Act Electronic Reading Room

Welcome to the National Indian Gaming Commission’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Electronic Reading Room. The NIGC Electronic Reading Room provides access to information identified under FOIA. FOIA generally provides that any person has a right of access to federal agency records, except to the extent that the records are protected from disclosure by any of the nine exemptions contained in the law or by one of three special law enforcement record exclusions. Notwithstanding the above protections, FOIA requires federal agencies to provide the fullest possible disclosure of information to the public. Administrative and judicial remedies are available to those persons denied access to records.
